Located within the grounds of Derwent Mill Farm in a village called West Ayton on the outskirts of Scarborough. Our Shepherd’s Hut is modern and cosy offering studio-style accommodation for two, surrounded by countryside and many local amenities, making this a perfect couple’s retreat for anyone wanting to enjoy a peaceful location, close on the North Yorkshire coast.
The Shepherds Hut can be booked as an overflow or in conjuntion of Yew Tree holiday cottage in Scarborough.
The Shepherds Hut can also be reserved indepentley for a minimum of a 2 night stay.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
The Shepherds Hut offers a good-sized double bed, a small dining area, a small kitchen with an electric oven and hob, plus a fridge, so you’ll have everything you need for a self-catering holiday.
Our hut also offers a bathroom with a basin and a small bath with an overhead shower.
Exterior
On the edge of the North York Moors National Park, The Shepherds Hut is idyllic situated. As part of the Derwent Mill estate, it sits on the edge of the village with fabulous scenery.
Outside you will have views of one of the oldest Mills in the country and a stretch of the River Derwent, there is a bench at the front the Shepherd Hut where you can sit and enjoy.
The area is home to a variety or notable trees, including the iconic Sycamore tree on the Derwent Mill Green, which was planted to for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897, along with another Sycamore by Ayton Castle which is known to be over 200 years old.
