This quaint cottage has a welcoming atmosphere on entry. The lounge has a light and airy feel with a beautiful south-facing bay window, comfortable seating for all, along with a log burner for cosy nights in.

The cottage boasts traditional features including exposed wooden beams, feature brick walls and wood flooring in both the lounge, dining and kitchen areas.

Tasteful modern additions such as a television in the lounge and a bespoke handmade kitchen add to the comforts, yet blend in beautifully with the traditional furniture such as period-style dresser and pine dining table.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

Upstairs, both bedrooms have the comforting, tranquil ambience that a cottage in the country should have. Each have good sized windows with unblemished pastoral views over the adjacent fields and farmland. The rooms still host decorative original fireplaces, exposed wooden beams and traditional style solid doors.

To ensure a good nights rests, Silentnight mattresses are on each of the beds. In addition, there are televisions in each room and solid wood furniture for storage.

Both bedrooms have access to an upstairs wash basin and toilet which has been newly refitted for 2017. The bathroom on the ground floor is spacious and includes a corner bath, shower and towel heater in addition to the toilet and wash basin.

Exterior & Garden

On the edge of the North York Moors National Park, Yew Tree Cottage is idyllic situated. As part of the Derwent Mill estate, it sits on the edge of the village with outlooks on to open fields and paddocks.

Stone walls feature throughout the area, one of which encloses the yard to the front of the cottage. To to rear is a generously sized private outdoor area, with wooden decking, outdoor furniture and uninterrupted views towards Ayton Castle.

The area is home to a variety or notable trees, including the iconic Sycamore tree on the Derwent Mill Green, which was planted to for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897, along with another Sycamore by Ayton Castle which is known to be over 200 years old.
